Henry Williams
Research Fellow
I am now using my skills as an emerging researcher at the University of Auckland’s Center of Automation and Robotic Engineering Science (CARES) to lead the Robot Learning Team (https://robotlearningteam.org/). My team seeks to develop novel machine learning algorithms to enable robots to autonomously adapt and learn their behaviours from their interactions with the real world through Reinforcement Learning. Examples of my team's work can be found on Github: https://github.com/UoA-CARES/cares_reinforcement_learning. I am actively recruiting students eager to engage in this research with a particular interest in members of Women In Engineering (WEN) and South Pacific Indigenous Engineering Students (SPIES). I am the Chair of the New Zealand Robotics, Automation, and Sensing (NZRAS) council member and the New Zealand Representative for the Australian Robotics and Automation Association (ARAA). I am the programme director for the Master of Robotics and Automation Engineering (MRobotEng.) Please feel free to contact me via email for any questions regarding this program.
